Preliminary Science Results from NASA's 60 TFLOP Columbia System

Abstract

The NASA Columbia System located at the NASA’s Ames Research Center, is the world’s fastest production supercomputer.  The system currently sits at number 2 in the LINPACK Top 500 list.  The system has been in production since September, 2004.  The presentation provides a short overview of the Columbia system architecture, followed by a description of a number of scientific results produced to date on several of NASA mission critical codes.
