Powering Nuclear Energy Through the Generations

The Idaho National Laboratory presents a poster focusing on the evolution of
nuclear energy. The poster will focus on the four generations of nuclear energy:
- Gen I - the worlds first breeder reactor and
the first reactor to produce usable electricity from nuclear energy
- Gen II - early reactor tests conducted at
specialized facilities support safe operation of todays commercial military
and research reactors
- Gen III - Research leads to development of
advanced light-water reactor systems
- Gen IV - Looking at the six concepts for new reactor systems and the
Generation IV International Forum partnerships.
