ABOUT CESC

High-End Computing (HEC) has been a driver for advances in Science and Engineering (S&E) for the past four decades. Increasingly, HEC has become a significant element in assuring the national security, economic vitality and competitiveness of the United States. Future advances in S&E will become even more dependent on HEC systems and computational knowledge. Advances in HEC provide results that cut across traditional disciplinary and organizational boundaries. Opportunities must be provided to continue to share information about advances in HEC systems and computational techniques across S&E disciplines and organizations. In addition, it is paramount that the advances in HEC by our mission-oriented S&E Agencies and their Laboratories, Centers and university/industrial partners, be recognized by our nation’s decision-makers. The Computational Engineering and Science Conference will advance these goals by bringing working scientists in conjunction with Agency, White House, Congressional and Legislative staff in an environment conducive to the sharing of technical information, accomplishments, goals and plans.

The CESC will focus on

  • Technical barriers related to the full effective utilization of HEC
  • Policy issues affecting HEC across mission agencies
  • Improved opportunities for collaboration across disciplines, agencies and industry.
